The Equestrian Connection By GENES LECOANET

The Equestrian Connection

This Autumn, revisit the spectacular era of  equestrian elegance . From races to  hunting, this fast pace collection celebrates the bygone era when the horse was ridden  by the charismatic gentleman and the adventurous  independent woman, whose enigmatic spirit is still very present in todays diverse community

A rich rustic palette of Teal, Mustard, bold Reds is offset seamlessly with classic neutral tones of cream, charcoal & khaki. Intricate prints of stirrups, bridles and the horse silhouette are playfully placed on the shirts, inner linings of the jackets and scarf accessories. Detailed contrasting seams are boldly and very effectively placed on some of the day dresses,  jackets and shirts for women and men.

This eclectic array of outer wear and separates for men and women is a true  statement of “comfortable street chic” .

Bomber racing jackets and fitted debonair jackets for men paired with snappy skinny pants are equally cool when dressed down with a pair of streetstyle separates. The soft quilted jackets for women paired with an easy flowing khaki lace skirts or slender fitting pants… and the clever reverse of a slim fitted ‘fashion riding” jacket looks cool with the lace pant and bold contrasting stripe. This is just a quick glance at the many inventive interchangeable options for day and evening wear. Layering with ease gives the customer the option to embrace the GENES world but retain his or her individuality.

The AW18/19 campaign echoes the cinematic feel of the  late French film director Claude Chabrol – striking a fine balance of space, distance and closeness. Creating a determined confidence,  the model protagonists in these GENES images exude a  self-assured independent spirit which is a key element throughout the Genes collection. The European discipline of equine events be it dressage, horse racing, polo etc is combined with the carefree spirit  of riding across the plains of Argentina…
